The Wilton Clerc Papers Present

On December 6, 2023, the SOCIÉTÉ LAURENT CLERC laurentclerc.org held a presentation at the Wilton Library https://www.wiltonlibrary.org in Wilton CT. Here is the pdf of the presentation as the recording was lost to a technical error. Bummer

A small crowd of ASL signers and community members joined us for this presentation by Laurent Clerc Holt, 4x great grandson of Laurent Clerc.

This presentation was to introduce the Clerc family papers donated to the Wilton Historical Society (WHS) https://wiltonhistorical.orgaround by Francis Clerc Ogden, great grandson of Laurent Clerc. Francis had donated these papers to the WHS around 1970 and made their way to the History Room at the library in 1981. They are now on permanent loan to the American School for the Deaf.

ASL interpreters were provided by the American School for the Deaf.

Flat Laurent made his debute next to Mr. Holt and kept a close eye on the accuracy of the material.
